TRIO VENERE

It was December 2022 when pianist Daniel Borovitzky, violinist Gaia Trionfera and cellist Nigel Thean merged together to founding Trio Venere. Each musician brings an extensive background in chamber music, united by their natural musical chemistry and a shared eagerness to exploring the piano trio repertoire.

Praised for their distinctive colour palette and their acute musical intuition, the trio was invited to the IMS Prussia Cove to work with Kirill Gerstein and David Waterman resulting into a follow up invitation to feature in Wigmore Hall.

In 2024, Trio Venere was selected to perform at the Yellow Barn Music Festival, where they had the privilege of sharing the stage with esteemed artists such as Anthony Marwood, Krzysztof Chorzelski, Alasdair Beatson, and Seth Knopp.

During the festival, the trio also had the exceptional opportunity to work closely with renowned composer Jörg Widmann, performing some of his works in his presence.

Currently, Trio Venere is pursuing a Master's in Chamber Music under the guidance of Claudio Martínez Mehner, Rainer Schmidt, Anton Kernjak and Anna Gebert at the Musik Akademie Basel and has worked with artists of great value such as Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Robert Levin, Enrico Bronzi, Alina Ibragimova and Steven Isserlis.

Im Dezember 2022 schlossen sich der Pianist Daniel Borovitzky, die Geigerin Gaia Trionfera und der Cellist Nigel Thean zusammen, um das Trio Venere zu gründen. Jeder der Musiker bringt eine umfassende Erfahrung in der Kammermusik mit, vereint durch ihre natürliche musikalische Chemie und die gemeinsame Begeisterung für das Repertoire des Klaviertrios.

Für ihre außergewöhnliche Klangfarbenpalette und musikalische Intuition gelobt, wurde das Trio zur IMS Prussia Cove eingeladen, um mit Kirill Gerstein und David Waterman zu arbeiten. Dies führte zu einer weiteren Einladung, in der Wigmore Hall aufzutreten.

2024 wurde das Trio Venere ausgewählt, beim Yellow Barn Music Festival zu spielen. Dort teilten sie die Bühne mit renommierten Künstlern wie Anthony Marwood, Krzysztof Chorzelski, Alasdair Beatson und Seth Knopp. Während des Festivals hatten sie zudem die besondere Gelegenheit, eng mit dem Komponisten Jörg Widmann zusammenzuarbeiten und einige seiner Werke in seiner Anwesenheit aufzuführen.

Derzeit absolviert das Trio Venere einen Master in Kammermusik an der MusikAkademie Basel unter der Anleitung von Claudio Martínez Mehner, Rainer Schmidt, Anton Kernjak und Anna Gebert und hat bereits mit Künstlern wie Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Robert Levin, Enrico Bronzi, Alina Ibragimova und Steven Isserlis zusammengearbeitet.

Nel dicembre 2022 il pianista Daniel Borovitzky, la violinista Gaia Trionfera e il violoncellista Nigel Thean si sono uniti per fondare il Trio Venere. Ogni musicista porta con sé una vasta esperienza nella musica da camera, uniti da una naturale chimica musicale e da un comune entusiasmo per l’esplorazione del repertorio per trio con pianoforte.

Lodato per la sua straordinaria tavolozza di colori e l’intuizione musicale acuta, il trio è stato invitato all’IMS Prussia Cove per lavorare con Kirill Gerstein e David Waterman, il che ha portato a un ulteriore invito ad esibirsi alla Wigmore Hall.

Nel 2024 il Trio Venere è stato selezionato per esibirsi al Yellow Barn Music Festival, dove ha avuto il privilegio di condividere il palco con artisti di grande rilievo, come Anthony Marwood, Krzysztof Chorzelski, Alasdair Beatson e Seth Knopp. Durante il festival, il trio ha avuto anche l’eccezionale opportunità di lavorare a stretto contatto con il compositore Jörg Widmann, eseguendo alcune delle sue opere alla sua presenza.

Attualmente il Trio Venere sta seguendo un Master in Musica da Camera presso la Musik-Akademie Basel sotto la guida di Claudio Martínez Mehner, Rainer Schmidt, Anton Kernjak e Anna Gebert e ha collaborato con artisti di grande spessore come Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Robert Levin, Enrico Bronzi, Alina Ibragimova e Steven Isserlis.

Piano

Daniel Borovitzky

Daniel has performed with orchestras like the English Chamber Orchestra under Zubin Mehta and won competitions such as the Grand Prix Animato.

A Yale School of Music and Basel graduate, he studied with Peter Frankl, Claudio Martinez Mehner and Anton Kernjak. His recordings with Ensemble MultiPiano were released by Naxos and Hyperion.

Gaia Trionfera

Gaia, currently studying with Rainer Schmidt in Basel, has won over 30 international competitions, including the A. Grumiaux Competition. She has performed at venues like Musikverein Vienna and Teatro La Fenice. As a soloist, she played with Solisti Aquilani and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, collaborating with renowned conductors like Amaury du Closel and Hyung-ki Joo.
